Summers In Time Dance Classes – 7-13yrs
August 15 @ 6:15 pm – 7:00 pm
On top of the dance groups we subsidise and run once a month on a Sunday, we are looking at starting another dance group, but this one will be every week!
It sounds really exciting and will be based in Arnold, Nottingham, and run by Summers in Time dance studio. There will be two ages catered for – 7-13 yrs and 14+ and the classes will be for anyone with significant learning disabilities (similar to what happens with the football club).
They do a mix of dance styles – street dance, rock and roll, Latin, disco, cheerleading or whatever they want to do. The teacher will adapt the classes to the dancers in each group and work with them to learn a range of different dance styles. They intend to have helpers there in the room to support those who need them, but equally, parents are able to stay and help their children, if necessary.
The dancers will be able to take part in shows, competitions and do dance exams, or equally they can just do it for fun. It’s totally up to the dancers and families.
These classes would possibly be more suited to those who like to learn routines and follow instructions (however long it may take them to do so) rather than those who just like music, spinning and swaying. The Manor Arts class would be more suitable for those dancers.
The classes will cost £6, but NDSSG will be subsiding all the dancers from the support group or EFC Warriors, so that you just pay £4 per session.
The classes will take place on Monday evenings.
So it will be …
MONDAY, 6.15-7.00pm for dancers 7-13 years
MONDAY, 7.00-7.45pm for dancers 14+ years
