World Down’s Syndrome Day 2022

World Down’s Syndrome Day 2022

We have made a video to celebrate all the babies, children, teenagers and adults with Down’s Syndrome, who live in Nottinghamshire. Around 300 people took part at either one of our 5 regional NDSSG events, our 2 wonderful football clubs, a local dance group and a work skills centre. Sadly, due to Covid being on the increase here, quite a few people couldn’t make the events, but they were still able to take part from home. We hope it shows you what a wonderful community we are, and how much we celebrate people with Down’s Syndrome.

A HUGE thank you has to go to Elliott, Joel, Jasmine, Samuel and Shearon from COY Worship who recorded the song for us. I

think everyone who took part agreed they love their lives!

An equally BIG thank you goes to Catherine Chivers from Manor Arts, who came to run dance sessions at the two Nottingham events, and runs the weekly group EveryoneDance. Thank you to Mark Jones for creating the design for the WDSD picture.

All our events took one section to decorate, and i think you’ll agree that the finished picture looks AMAZING! And shows that, though we are a big county covering many miles, we are all part of the welcoming, warm community that is NDSSG.

Lots of local individuals and supporters also helped make our WDSD 2022 events a huge success – too many to mention – but please know we love and appreciate you all! Without you, so much of what we do wouldn’t be possible.
